THE DJ  Mdoo began his career in the late 80`s when he befriended top DJ`s like Ganyani & Satch from Soweto and Quincy Kekana & the late Evidence Kemp who were with Radio Metro then. He furthered to master his skills at Ganyani`s home studio with the help of the late DJ Slender. Mdoo got his first break at Club Count Down where he was given a chance to play by Evidence Kemp who was a resident DJ there. He also featured a number of times on SQuincy Kekana`s Saturday Levi`s Jam Show on Radio Metro, where he slowly but surely became popular in the underground scene with his choice of old school house music. Mdoo later created a large following when he became a resident DJ @ The Rock Soweto (1999-2000). He has since featured in various/popular clubs around S.A. Mdoo didn’t limit himself to just playing in clubs but he also played in some of the most exclusive parties, tours and launches of companies like Smirnoff, Spice-Gold, J&B ,Heineken ,S.A.B ,Coca-cola, Stuyvesant, Rothmans, Dunhill, Camel, Sony-BMG, Sheer-Music(now called Shelter Music), Sowetan Sunday World, Sunday-Times, Varsity Institutes, Government Institutes and more…He also represented S.A when he was invited to play in France at the Cannes Film Festival, where he got to play alongside DJs Gregory and Pierre. In the last 3 years he has hosted international DJs from the UK which by the look of things, it’s become an annual event. DJ Levi is a South African born DJ, who now resides in the UK& every year he comes back home he brings with him DJs from the UK. In 2009 he came with Chris Feinmann& in 2010 he brought Chris Feinmann& Bopstar, who is a popular DJ&Producer worldwide. He has recently taken Thursday residency @ Blacklife in Meadowlands (April 2010), with a new Deep House Session called House of Legends. This new session is a platform to host, showcase& honour the Deep House musical legends of our time. It’s important to note that he doesn’t host the legends every week, with the obvious reason that there are not many of them. He still carries the culture of show casing the up and coming and established DJs that will one day be seen as legends. THE MUSIC The music is inspired by evolving cultures and lifestyles, celebrating a newly emerging era of forward-thinking creativity of electronica with the timeless depth of soul.
