Defected has just about seen it all. After traveling the World to experience some of the greatest clubs and parties, hitting the Winter Music Conference in Miami, a whole season at Pacha in Ibiza, the ADE conference in Amsterdam, it's time for Defected to stretch its legs and head to the Far East.
In conjunction with the infamous Zouk club, the label's last destination release comes out of Singapore. Defected are proud to present the official soundtrack to Zouk.
Zouk has become THE club in the far east, with a who’s who of the World’s greatest DJs gracing its hallowed DJ booth: Danny Tenaglia, Fatboy Slim, Little Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, Francois K have all been guests; it’s with great honor that Defected can partner Zouk with this release.
Longtime Zouk resident djB delivers a very current house mix, ranging from en vogue productions from Dennis Ferrer (Sinfonia Della Note), Marco Carlo (Bloody Cash), Super Flu (Shine) and summer smash ‘La Mezcla’ by Michael Cleis alongside his own production ‘Incheon’. Giving the album a sense of nostalgia, B gives a nod to the past by throwing down tracks that have become classics when blasted from Zouk’s shattering sound system; X-Press 2’s ‘London Express’, DJ Gregory’s Don’t Know Malendo’ as well as South Street Players ‘Who Keeps Changing My Mind’ (Daniel Bovie & Roy Rox Remix).
Defected founder Simon Dunmore takes a similar approach by combining a plethora of upfront releases from a variety of labels with inclusions from the likes of Martijn ten Velden, ATFC, Eric Morillo and Sebo K sprinkled with classics from Hardrive and one of the defining vocal house records - Black Magic’s 'Freedom.'
This album is a must-have and is sure to delight your auditory senses...
